BJP posters target Naveen government failure in Odisha (Source: TOI)

BHUBANESHWAR: The BJP on Thursday launched posters of party president Amit Shah‘s forthcoming rally in the city on November 25, which, sources said, would be used to highlight 16 years of Naveen Patnaikgovernment’s misrule.
The posters which carry photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah, appeal to the people to attend the Jana Jagaran Mahasamavesh in large numbers. It would be interesting to hear Shah, who during his last public rally in Bhubaneswar in January last year, had refrained from criticising Naveen. Given the Naveen government’s support to the Centre’s demonetization scheme, it remains to be seen how Shah would take on the present dispensation.
Addressing a press conference after releasing the posters, BJP state vice-president Sameer Mohanty said “the focus of the November 25 rally is Naveen government’s poor track record. It will set the stage for a political change ahead of the panchayat elections”.BJD MLA and spokesperson Amar Prasad Satpathy said the BJP’s criticism of Naveen is on expected lines. “No government expects appreciation from the opposition. The BJP is trying its best for political revival. However, people are with the BJD,” Satpathy said.
The BJP’s posters follow its 24-page chargesheet listing Naveen government’s failures. The strong anti-BJD posturing comes days after Union oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan showered praise on the chief minister’s simple lifestyle, with Naveen urging that Modi be given more time before judging his performance as prime minister.
